First used in the installation Elective Affinity, the form of a portal can be surrounded by a garden or be filled by a landscape. Rhinestones, glass and magnets may be either in the composition of gardens and landscapes. The internal measurements of the portal is related to measurements of wood blocks used in the works called,  ‘’Manifests’’, thereby becoming a contour of the other.

If it was possible, we would create a theory where the bodies are what they are as they are immersed into something. From the thought that comes into the mind, to the pebble that sinks in the pond. Line and surface, skin and shadow separate a body from its environment whether it is visible or invisible.

The torus has a topological meaning, and it is a discrete image of continuity adopted by Tunga as it gives him the possibility of making other shapes that are all only one. It is a homeomorphic image that is  essentially borderless. The first torus was made as a ring cast in iron. Then, in an inversion of the shape that suggests the absence of or the interior of the torus, it appeared in the image of an endless tunnel in the installation titled Ão (1981). Another torus is found in the smoke that arises out of the cigar, a logical transubstantiation of the tobacco fibers molded inside the mouth that disappear before one’s eyes. This torus is presented in the book Barroco de Lírios (Lilies Baroque). Beginning in 1983, the torus was cast in iron and bronze. Les bijoux de Mme de Sade, alias X took the shape of a human femur twisted in a circle.
